David Madden Discusses "Lincoln and Louisiana"
David Madden, chair of the Louisiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, will be present at the Baton Rouge Historical and Genealogical Society on Saturday, March 21st, at 10:30 a.m. to present a very little known story of Lincoln's Louisiana connections. Lincoln visited New Orleans in 1831 and made a plan to use Louisiana as a model for a kinder, gentler reconstruction. The plans were made and set in motion shortly before his death. Come listen to this fascinating discussion at the Bluebonnet Library at 9200 Bluebonnet Blvd. in Baton Rouge. The meeting is free and open to the public.
